The Motcombe Pool House exhibition culminated a six-week residency in the house beside the currently-disused Motcombe Pool in Eastbourne Old Town, alongside fellow artist Florence Wright. It was part of the Eastbourne Alive programme, associated with the Towner Gallery - Turner Prize 2023.
Work for the exhibition involved direct engagement with the community through a series of workshops focused on the historical and recent experiences of the location. This involvement was further developed through my film, print and textile work connected to The Bourne – the ancient stream that runs through the area and fed the pool when it was operational.
